New Bedroom

Just over a year ago, my husband and I bought a new house in the Longfellow neighborhood in Minneapolis.  We saw the house and within a few minutes, put down a hefty offer.  We knew it was the one for us because it had four bedrooms and two functioning bathrooms on the first and second floor.  If you have house hunted in Minneapolis, you know how rare of a find this is.  There was a lot of work to be done upstairs in the bedrooms, especially the “master” which had bight pink stained carpet and brown walls.   Well, my husband has been working hard all year on this room, and we are so excited to finally be moved into to our new bedroom!

My husband tore out the carpet and replaced it with a dark wood floor lay.  He then replaced the shelving with pull out drawers for our clothing and belongings.  Next, he painted the walls and trim to match our new duvet cover.  Finally we added a ceiling fan because we know it’s going to be hot up in there in the summer.  Here’s what we are currently working with.

We moved up here Sunday thanks to the help of our family, and are so thrilled to be living in this new space.  We have much more to do before it is finished like putting in closet doors, a new bedroom door, as well as decorating, but so far, we think it is a great improvement.

I’ll be sharing more photos as we finish this space off.  I’m so proud of my husband for being so creative, handy, and amazing!
