Minnehaha Falls Engagement / Lauren + Colten

Lauren and Colten met through mutual on an impromptu double date at Applebee’s. Lauren kept her friend company while she waited for her boyfriend but planned on leaving when he arrived. It’s a good thing she stayed, because Colten was encouraged to come inside and meet Lauren- their friends thought they would hit it off, and they were so right! As soon as Colten saw Lauren, his eyes lit up and a smile came across his face. He sat down next to her and asked if she wanted to order the 2 for 20 and the rest is history!  Their Minnehaha Falls Engagement session took place during the fall since they love the outdoors and fall colors.

October in Minnesota can be hit or miss for weather, and despite the beauty of the fall, it was freezing!  Lauren and Colten are good sports, in fact, Colten loves the cooler weather- he lives in the right state – so we bundled up and met at the falls to start their session.

There are a few places one has to visit on a trip to the falls, and the waterfall is always number one.  It had been a while since Lauren and Colten had visited the park, so we took our time walking down to the waterfall.  Since it was cooler and grey, it was all ours to enjoy, and we were able to walk back on the rocks to get the perfect angle for their first image.

We made our way back up the stairs to the other side of the park where the colors were absolute perfection.  The great thing about this overcast day is that it really did make everything pop and look even brighter.  Red, orange, and yellow leaves were scattered all over the ground, they couldn’t help but take a seat and even throw some in the air.

Their Minnehaha Falls engagement session ended on the other side of the park- Longfellow Gardens where the sun had started to creep out behind the clouds, making the sky look pink and purple.  I’ll be seeing them again, this fall, for their wedding day and couldn’t be more excited to make more magic with this fun loving couple!
