Eastside Restaurant Wedding Reception – Colleen and Sean – 6/24/17

Colleen and Sean have what they describe as a modern day romance.  They met online only to discover on their first date that they lived one block away from each other.  Colleen had been walking her dog, Rags, past his house daily and yet it took Match.com for them to meet.  It’s surprising they had never met- not just because of this but because they share a lot of common interests, one of them being live music where they have been at the same shows, just never crossed paths.  They were married this past May in a vineyard in Sonoma with just family but wanted to celebrate with their friends and family in Minneapolis, so they choose Eastside Restaurant in Minneapolis to host their very fun wedding reception.

To back up a bit, Colleen and I went to high school together.  We were always friends, but really started to bond when I came back from college.  We met up at concerts, hung out with our many mutual friends, and you can’t help but love this girl because she has that sparkling energy.  She has a heart of gold, and Sean is so lucky to have her.

I got to know Sean more and more throughout this process, and I have to say, he is a really good guy.  His family came in from the South, their accents were my favorite, for the reception and were so kind and fun to be around.

The party started with guest arriving and Colleen and Sean greeting them with hugs outside.  As they made their way into the Eastisde, they were greeted with trays of sparkling wine, craft beers and cocktails, as well as delicious plates of cheeses and meats.  Friends and family filled into the restraurant and continued to socialize until more food was put out for dinner.  I was busy doing my thing, but I did get to try the beet salad and potatoe salad, and may I say—- they were unbelievably tasty.  Everything was very relaxed but also classy, the tone was set for romance and celebration.

Colleen and Sean’s dad both took the microphone for some kind words and praise for the couple.  Both fathers are so proud of their children and the fact that the joined together and were so happy to have everyone in Minneapolis to celebrate.

After the toasts, one of the best local band ever… yes ever.. Frogleg took the stage and started the dance party.  What I love about this band is that they appeal to all ages- everyone gets out on the dance floor and moves to their jam/rock inspired music.  They also do great covers which made for some sing/dance along moments.

When the music was over, everyone still gathered to sip their beverages down and say goodbye to this wonderful couple.

Colleen and Sean- I am so happy for you both!!!  You both are so beautiful- inside and out- and I’m so happy you found each other!  Love you guys to the moon and back and thank you for having me be apart of your day—- it was way too much fun!
