Coldwater Spring Engagement Session / 10.9.17 / Sam + Cory

Sam and Cory met at a wedding.  The bride and groom had planned it from the start- they would meet, walk down the aisle together, and then fall in love.  Well, it all happened and next summer Sam and Cory will walk back down the aisle together as a married couple.

They spend their free time golfing, going for walks, and in the summer especially love spending time at the cabin.  The love everything on their tacos (good call) and spice them up with Jalapanos a touch of Chalula.  This winter they added the newest and cuddly addition to their family, a brown cockapoo named Murphy.  He tagged along and made their Coldwater Spring engagement session in Minneapolis all the more special!

Coldwater Spring sits on the edge of the Minnehaha Falls dog park.  I frequent the dog park, but had never taken the trail Sam and Cory had mentioned down to an old ruin.

This was the first cold day in October.  It was cloudy, dark, and windy, but that made the pictures all the more moody and beautiful.  The bright yellows popped against the grey sky, and Sam and Cory just had to cuddle a bit closer to stay warm.

Cory’s parents brought their fluffy dog as well to keep Murphy in good spirits.  They are not only dog friends, but came from the same place, so they are sort of doggy cousins.  Murphy is still very much a pup, less than a year old, but was so well behaved.  He followed along the path after Sam and Cory with his big curly ears and gave my camera a big smile here and there.

Almost an hour later, we all felt frozen except for Cory’s parents who were dressed for the weather.  The clouds were too thick for the sunset’s light, so after one last photo with Murphy, everyone piled into cars, blazed the heaters, and made their way home to watch the Vikings crush some football.  It doesn’t get much better than that!

There will be more of Sam, Cory (and hopefully Murphy) on the blog in summer of 2018 so tune back in next summer.
