Kendra and Ryan have been together for 13 years. They love all things St. Paul, and lived in the Lowertown area. Since this part of St. Paul is so special to them, they wanted their wedding day to celebrate all their favorite things about the city. They started with a ceremony at Mears Park, popped over to their favorite seats at CHS field, then finished it off at 413 on Wacouta for their wedding reception.
Kendra arrived at 413 on Wacouta with her daughter and bridesmaids. Their hair and makeup was perfect, all Kendra had to do was change into her dress. Ryan and his side of the wedding party arrived shortly after. Ryan put on his jacket and met Kendra outside in the alley for their first look.
After a few moments together, they met Ryan’s parents in the parking lot to grab their flowers. The flowers were especially meaningful because they were grown by Ryan’s parents who own a gardening center, but also, Kendra’s bouquet had photos of her parent’s pinned on. They didn’t make it to see their little girl get married in person, but were their in spirit, watching from above.
The bridal party hopped into a car and we took a tour of St. Paul. Kendra and Ryan originally planned on having their ceremony at Raspberry Island, but a big race was booked there that day. The race luckily cleared out before we arrived and we were able to take a few photos at one of their favorite spots.
Guests arrived at Mears Park for their outdoor Ceremony. The sun was shining and for once, it wasn’t humid and hot. Their friends and family members gathered around the stage to watch their ceremony, which what as many of them told me, “Was a LOOONG time coming.”
Kendra and Ryan are season ticket holders and huge fans of the St. Paul Saints. They are well connected and their friends at CHS field warmly welcomed us into the field to take some photos. Kendra and Ryan put on their signed jerseys and sat in their seats, admiring one of their happy places.
413 on Wacouta was hopping when we arrived back for their reception. Guests helped themselves to Limoncello and Kendra and Ryan’s personal favorite, Italian food. Their friends made their way up to the mic and shared stories of how they all met, and how grateful they were for Kendra and Ryan always being so kind and loving. The dance floor opened up shortly after, and before parting ways, Kendra and Ryan climbed up onto the roof to admire St. Paul’s city lights.
Kendra and Ryan- you have hearts of gold! From our first meeting over beers to our last meeting over beers, spending time with you two has been magnificent. You can tell that you not only love each other, but you have so much love for everyone around you. I know where your seats are now, and hope to come find you at a Saint’s game this summer! So much love to you both- if you ever wanna grab beers at the ballgame, I’m sooooo in!
